Virtual autopsy workflow improvement

Post Mortem CT (PMCT) with the BodyTom® CT scanner can assist in your investigation
BodyTom is a multi-slice computed tomography scanner that allows you to perform a virtual autopsy in 20 minutes or less.
Post Mortem CT (PMCT) with the BodyTom can assist in solving the many unknowns in a death investigation and augment investigative efforts. It is a tool that can also be used in collaboration with ongoing research projects such as death investigation and prevention, violence investigation and prevention, drug intelligence, and informatics in forensic medicine.
The 3-dimensional aspect of BodyTom allows for visualization of all body tissues in various planes. PMCT with BodyTom allows one to view anatomic findings at the time of autopsy or later. All data can be stored for perpetuity when combined with a PACS.
Internal shielding allows for the BodyTom to be installed with minimal need for additional construction.

Key Benefits/Solutions

More diagnostic information expands the role of radiology

Perform a virtual autopsy in less than 20 minutes

- In certain causes of death, CT may serve as a triage technique for decisions as to which decedents might have a complete or limited autopsy
- In limited autopsy cases CT findings may add information to the external examination and toxicology findings that were previously used alone to determine the cause of death
For example: Complex fracture patterns are better visualized
Can help to direct the forensic pathologist during dissection
View anatomy without dissection
- Potential reduction in time by providing insight to potential cause of death before actual autopsy or exam
- Potential reduction of full autopsies in favor of external exam (saves ME ND TECH TIME)

Key Features and Benefits

BodyTom®

bodytomCircle

Can visualize injury patterns in 3 dimensions

• Improve autopsy throughput

• Reduce autopsy numbers and costs

• Increase speed and accuracy of forensic pathologists and anthropologists

• Triage cases in mass casualty situations

To accommodate most body sizes

Reduced risk of exposure to scatter radiation without expensive build-outs

No need to add a specialty electrical system, saving the expense

The BodyTom Elite has People Talking

Treatment of cerebrovascular disease is a race against time, as it kills a large number of people worldwide and can cause paralysis in others. The main factor for reducing disability and death is a treatment 'time standard' within 270 minutes. These products save lives. Every minute counts.
